How to promote your DRep and attract delegators

Last updated 2026-07-14

Hundreds of DReps are registered on Cardano, and delegators pick the ones they can actually evaluate. There is no paid placement on DRepTalk and no way to buy a better spot in the DRep directory: everything below builds visibility out of verifiable activity, which is also what makes it convincing.

Complete your on-chain profile

Without a name and bio you are a bech32 id in a long list. Set a name, a short bio, your objectives, contact links, and a picture in your on-chain metadata: that is what the directory and your profile page display, and a filled-out profile is also what people can find through a web search. How to set or change the metadata is covered in Managing your DRep.

Vote on every action, and vote early

Your voting record is public on your profile and on every governance action page, and it is the first thing an undecided delegator checks. Two habits make it work for you:

Write a rationale for every vote

A vote says what you decided, a rationale says why, and the why is what earns trust. Rationales are shown next to your vote on the action page, and standout rationales are featured more prominently there. A few clear sentences beat a long essay; Writing a vote rationale covers what to include.

Be present in the discussions

Every governance action has its own discussion thread on DRepTalk, and there are open categories for constitution, budget, and general governance topics. When you sign in as a DRep, your posts carry your DRep identity and link back to your profile, so answering questions and explaining your thinking in the discussions is visibility with your name on it. Delegators notice the DReps who show up before they vote, not just after.

Share your voting record

Your DRepTalk profile page collects your record in one link: votes, rationales, delegator count, badges, and posts. Share it in your social bios and include it in the reference links of your on-chain metadata; the page renders a rich preview card when the link is shared, so it works as a landing page for anyone deciding whether to delegate to you.

Let the record accumulate

Consistency reads better than bursts. Achievement badges are earned automatically from your on-chain and forum activity, and the biggest voting-power gains of each epoch are listed on Movers of the epoch; both reward steady participation over time. A DRep who has voted, explained, and answered questions for months has a story no promotion can fake.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay to promote my DRep on DRepTalk?

No. There is no paid placement. The directory ranks by on-chain numbers such as voting power and delegator count, so visibility comes from verifiable activity only.

How quickly do my votes and rationales show up?

On-chain values are synced on a schedule, so a new vote or rationale usually appears within minutes rather than instantly. See data freshness for details.

Do I have to post on the forum to attract delegators?

It is not required, but it clearly helps your visibility. Every post carries your DRep identity and links back to your profile, so the discussions are where undecided delegators get to know you. Your on-chain voting record remains the foundation; the forum is how people find the person behind it.
