DRep voluntary donations onchain metadata+tooling

Eventually someone should facilitate ways for "Delegator to Drep" spontaneous/recurrent ADA donations.
Even just a metadata type code documenting "this is a donation to my DRep"; one-off/periodic; tooling used; misc comment;
Having this boilerplate standard could be a step towards it being implemented by wallets as "Donate to your DRep" buttons, and as "Donate to me" buttons (on things like CardanoPress, Mesh or Vanilla html/js) that DReps could have on their websites/profiles.
Tracking the chain for such metadata could reveal behaviour patterns to later inform what rewards calculations and mechanisms could be reasonable to code onchain.
Maybe DRepTalk could pioneer all this. 🤗

If we want DRep compensation to actually work, they ultimately need to live in the protocol itself, exactly like stake pool rewards. Defined parameters, automatic distribution by the ledger, no reliance on wallets implementing a metadata convention or on delegator „goodwill“. Voluntary donations will likely stay marginal, and they reward DReps who happen to have generous delegators rather than consistent work. That said, a standardized metadata format could be a useful experiment: real data on what delegators are willing to give would help design a proper ledger-level mechanism later.
