Rationale for Voting on “Cardano Blockchain Ecosystem Budget: Amaru Node Development 2025” Info Action
I am voting YES on the Amaru Node Development 2025 proposal.
The Amaru node will significantly increase Cardano’s resilience and improve network security. As Cardano continues to onboard thousands of new users, transactions, and greater value, it is essential to ensure the system has no single point of failure. Amaru directly addresses this by introducing node diversity, thereby strengthening the network against potential disruptions.
Additionally, Amaru is expected to lower hardware requirements for stake pool operators, which will further promote decentralisation of the network. The choice to develop Amaru in Rust - a widely adopted programming language - will also broaden our developer base and attract new contributors to the Cardano ecosystem.
In my view, the requested funding is fully justified by the value Amaru brings in terms of security, decentralisation, and network robustness. For these reasons, I am supporting this proposal.

I believe that node availability, accessibility and diversity is not only critical for ecosystem growth but also a key component to mass adoption.
I picture a time, in the not too distant future, where nodes will have the ability to run on any and all connected devices. Imagine, a smart fridge having the ability to run a node and generate income, used to pay for its own groceries, that are automatically reordered as needed, through both a blockchain enabled farmer-direct ordering app and delivery service. That would be something to see.
It is on this basis that I have voted YES to this proposal.

I have decided to vote in favor of this proposal. Node diversity is an important part of securing the network and this team is very well suited to complete the work described in the proposal. I also appreciate that Amaru will be acting as an administrator for this budget. Having groups step up to be administrators like this is also valuable for the ecosystem. For these reasons I believe the costs here are justified.
