I vote YES. The revised proposal uncouples the event, reduces costs, and increases CF’s contribution. A Tier-1 event in Singapore before Token2049 is vital for marketing. However, future summits should aim for 100% self-sustainability, transparent business ROI, and higher CF financial backing.
A PDF version of this rationale is also made available.
I am voting YES on the revised Cardano Summit 2026 proposal. I highly appreciate that the Cardano Foundation listened to community feedback by decoupling this request from EMURGO's proposal, significantly reducing the overall requested treasury amount, and increasing their own internal contributions.
As a top-tier blockchain, Cardano boasts unmatched technology but has historically lacked the marketing presence to match. We absolutely need a high-end, Tier-1 event to showcase our ecosystem to the world. Strategically positioning this Summit in Singapore immediately preceding Token2049 is an ideal move to capture institutional and enterprise attention.
However, while I support this iteration, I'd like to see the following improvements in future event proposals:
Greater Skin in the Game: I believe that the Cardano Foundation should cover at least 50% of the total event costs from their own allocated funds, rather than relying heavily on the treasury.
Path to Sustainability: I highly advocate for a definitive roadmap demonstrating how the Summit can transition into a 100% self-sustained event, funded entirely by event revenues or the Foundation's own backing.
Verifiable ROI: Event outcomes must move beyond general "brand awareness" and translate directly into specific, measurable new business for our ecosystem. We need transparent tracking of how generated leads actively convert into tangible opportunities and partnerships.
I appreciate the responsiveness shown in this revised proposal, which has my support today. Moving forward, we must continue pushing for fully sustainable events that deliver clearly measurable business value.

Honestly, I am strongly against this kind of spending on summits, parties, guest artists, and what feels like excessive use of treasury funds, especially under current market conditions. First, I don’t see any clear direct impact from this kind of expenditure. There are no defined KPIs or measurable outcomes that justify the cost. On top of that, it feels like we are reinforcing the same echo chamber the same Cardano community gathering at a Cardano-focused event. In other words, we are staying within the same island instead of reaching new audiences. If the goal is growth and adoption, then we should be prioritizing initiatives that expand beyond the existing community and deliver measurable results.
We are not in a bull market with ADA at all-time highs to justify this kind of spending on events and celebrations. Additionally, there have already been several summits, and from my perspective, I don’t see the value this event brings especially when it is being funded by the treasury. - No298.9K ₳Rationale
Voting NO on Revised Cardano Summit 2026 Singapore
May 20th 2026
Summary
The Cardano Foundation is again asking for money to host the Cardano Summit. This time its a little bit less.
Conclusion
No. Its still not party time. I'm voting against this again for most of the same reasons as last time. Please don't ask again.

I am voting NO on “Revised Cardano Summit 2026 Singapore.”
This revised proposal is substantively better than the original. The Foundation listened to community feedback, cut the budget by 22%, decoupled the Summit from EMURGO’s TOKEN2049 sponsorship, increased its own internal contribution from USD 250k to USD 380k, and shifted to a leaner two‑stage format with clearer KPIs and revenue targets. The custody model through audited Sundae Labs treasury contracts, the milestone structure, the public dashboard, and the annual Grant Thornton audit—all of which also cover this withdrawal—provide strong accountability and transparency. I also accept the argument that, at this scale and in this context, only a well‑structured founding entity currently has the operational capacity to run a credible global flagship event without risking reputational damage to Cardano.
On proposal quality, governance, and responsiveness, this Summit request is above average and the YES votes make valid points about its potential long‑term value and the importance of having a controlled Cardano platform adjacent to TOKEN2049 in Singapore. However, my decision is driven by treasury fit and priority. The ask remains large at ₳7,800,000, and the benefits—enterprise MQLs, meetings, media coverage, and developer engagement—are inherently indirect and hard to tie cleanly to durable on‑chain adoption. The Cardano Foundation is still well capitalized and successfully self‑funded Summits from 2022–2024; Summit 2025 was the first treasury‑funded flagship, and moving immediately to a second edition paid from the treasury risks normalizing this as a recurring line item rather than a last‑resort or transitional mechanism. In the same NCL window I am already supporting multiple multi‑million‑ADA proposals for protocol upgrades, high‑assurance tooling, developer experience, and L2 scalability—work that produces direct, durable improvements to Cardano’s technical capacity and security for all builders. Given finite treasury resources, I judge those investments to be a higher‑leverage use of public funds this epoch than a flagship event, even a well‑designed one in a strategically attractive location.
For these reasons, I will vote NO on this proposal in its current form. This is not a rejection of the idea of a 2026 Summit in Singapore, nor a criticism of the Foundation’s ability to execute; it is a statement about what I believe the treasury should prioritize now. I would be more inclined to support future Summit proposals if they (1) come through the main budget process with sufficient lead time, (2) present a clear, quantified path toward Summit self‑sustainability and reduced treasury reliance, (3) include explicit conflict‑of‑interest mitigations (such as founding‑entity DReps abstaining on their own large withdrawals), and (4) report in detail on how previous Summits converted KPIs like MQLs and meetings into concrete, on‑chain adoption. - Abstain261K ₳Rationale
EN
I have a conflict of interest regarding this proposal, as I am part of the Cardano Ambassador Program through the Cardano Foundation. Ambassadors may receive rewards or support for their activities and contributions, which creates a potential conflict in relation to a proposal connected to the Cardano Summit.
For this reason, I will abstain.
I believe this is the appropriate standard for governance participation. If we expect others in the Cardano ecosystem to properly disclose and avoid conflicts of interest, we should apply the same standard to ourselves. I encourage other DReps with relevant conflicts of interest to consider abstaining as well.
PT

Cardano Foundation's purpose of existence is to fund things like this themselves using the massive amount of genesis ADA they were given, and the staking profits accumulated since.

Yes. Meet the market where it is at.
Locating the summit time and place to match Token 2049 is a good move. Recent collaboration of the Founding Entities from Cardano and Midnight should result in a strong presence in Singapore. I also appreciate the resized budget following community feedback.

no brainer. every top ecosystem needs a summit, cardano is a top ecosystem. the CF has been taking on this gargantuan task since 2022 and has iterated and improved it tremendously over the past few years. connecting it to a presence at token 2049 is really smart. they've also revised the ask downwards. as a CF employee I can attest to the insane amount of work and hours that go into this and which isn't accounted for in this proposal. no brainer.

Due to current limitations in our governance process, I will cast abstain votes on most upcoming proposals. The existing framework does not provide the adequate structure, clarity, or time required to make well-informed funding decisions. Moving forward, I will only vote "Yes" on initiatives that are absolutely critical to the network's immediate survival and success. I sincerely apologize to the teams who have dedicated time and effort to their proposals; you deserve a more robust evaluation system. Right now, my priority must shift from assessing standard funding requests to actively improving our governance infrastructure, ensuring we no longer have to make rushed decisions with insufficient information.

These MKT event should be covered by previous budget asks MKT of Intersect or Founding entities the original budget plan. Skeptical on the impact

As I explained previously in past votes, I consider this (even reduced, even edited) as HUGE waste of funds. We had Community Events category in Project Catalyst - I think it's good practice to renew it and make each event go via community voting and discussion. Another option is to empower Ambassadors or DREps with (1/1000 or 1/100 of such budget).
