About

Objectives

I have a deep-rooted passion for blockchain led innovation and its potential for transformative change. Recognizing the significant upgrade that decentralisation, on-chain governance, financial autonomy, and self-sovereign identity can bring to the modern human experience led me to launch FLUID stake pool during the final stages of the Shelley era. I will support governance proposals leading to increased decentralisation of the chain and improved distribution of power. Small, local, granular governance is the right direction.

Motivations

I want to contribute my own opinions on governance decisions and so am registering as a DRep. My experience in supporting the Catalyst experiment has shown me that delegated representation could be a healthy step to help increase voter participation, amplify expertise and avoid voter overwhelm and apathy.

Qualifications

FLUID Pool operator since September 2021. Software developer and director of FLUID7 Web development Agency since 2010. Father of 3 and trustee of my local independent church.

Yes. Meet the market where it is at.

Locating the summit time and place to match Token 2049 is a good move. Recent collaboration of the Founding Entities from Cardano and Midnight should result in a strong presence in Singapore. I also appreciate the resized budget following community feedback.

YesCardano Defi Liquidity Budget - Withdrawal 1Decided epoch 625View rationaleEnacted5mo ago

We need regulatory compliance and protective legal structures that work in the traditional world, and following the models proven by those who have gone before us is a shrewd approach. I'm happy with the proper governance infrastructure of this proposed committee, executive, supervisor approach. Ultimately the DAO vote will determine the spending of funds, meeting the primary objective.
I'd prefer participants in these legal structures to have proven stake in the success of Cardano, but hopefully these will emerge with time.

I trust the teams involved in the smart contract portions of the plan and am pleased to see external audit budgets considered.

The overall costs seem high, but that should hopefully cater for the volatility of our asset and ensure delivery and/or refunds.

YesDingo: a Production-Grade Block Producer in Go by Blink LabsDecided epoch 625View rationaleEnacted5mo ago

This proposal represents a meaningful infrastructure advancement for Cardano backed by proven ecosystem contributors with a track record of delivery. Node diversity done well is not a vanity metric.

The team behind Dingo has demonstrated strong, long-term Cardano ecosystem commitment. Their Go-based node implementation is already showing tangible value in pre-production; measurable hardware cost reductions for SPOs, and critically, blocks are already being minted on Preview mainnet with sub 1GB RAM using Log-Structured Merge tree (LSM) optimisation. This isn't theoretical, it's a live proof of concept demonstrating protocol parity and resource efficiency at scale.

The Haskell node is undergoing LSM optimisation in parallel. Dingo's ability to achieve sub-1GB RAM footprint with LSM while minting mainnet blocks validates the approach and gives SPOs a genuinely efficient alternative, especially for resource-constrained cloud operators and bare-metal pools alike.

Critically, Dingo is being developed collaboratively with the existing Haskell node development team, not in isolation. This coordination ensures protocol parity and significantly mitigates fragmentation risks.

Language and implementation diversity strengthen network resilience. A production-grade Go alternative gives SPOs genuine choice based on their infrastructure constraints and preferences. This improves decentralisation.

The treasury investment is justified. Cardano's long-term value depends on robust, diverse infrastructure. Funding skilled agents to build that is core treasury work.

YesNet Change Limit of 300 Million ADA for Epochs 613–713Decided epoch 618View rationaleClosed6mo ago

Last year we spent 270M against a 350M limit, so this vote isn't really about the number. Without an NCL, no treasury withdrawal is constitutional. The previous attempt at this same period expired without passing. We can't keep leaving that gap open. Yes, governance quality needs constant improvement. That work happens on individual withdrawal votes and framework debates, not here. Don't cut the fuel line while you're fixing the steering. This ship needs to be moving.

I do see the hindrance that lack of stablecoin liquidity within the Cardano ecosystem is having on out Defi protocols and onboarding of participants. This is a sensible step to improving the situation and having followed Amaru's progress and engaged members in conversation I am voting yes.
