Dolos is useful open-source infrastructure that gives developers efficient access to Cardano chain data without requiring the resources and complexity of running a traditional full node and separate indexing services.
It supports several interfaces used across the Cardano developer ecosystem, including UTxO-RPC, Mini-Blockfrost, Mini-Kupo and the Ouroboros Node-to-Client interface. This makes it easier for developers to integrate Dolos into existing applications and development workflows.
I have direct experience with the product and see practical value in its continued development and maintenance.
The work is also publicly visible on GitHub. The repository is active, releases are frequent, and the team continues to address protocol compatibility, bugs, performance, security, testing, and documentation. TxPipe has demonstrated that it is capable of delivering and maintaining this software.
The requested 540,750 ADA for 12 months does not appear excessive for maintaining a specialized Cardano data node written in Rust.
The proposal could provide more detail about the exact part-time allocation, measurable maintenance targets, and the conditions under which the contingency reserve may be used. However, these shortcomings are not sufficient for me to reject the proposal, given the visible delivery record, reasonable budget, and practical usefulness of Dolos.

We originally voted YES on Dolos during the Intersect Budget process, and we maintain that position.
Dolos is open-source, reusable infrastructure that provides a lightweight alternative for accessing Cardano chain data. It can reduce infrastructure costs, improve developer experience, and give builders more flexible options than running heavier data stacks.
We also recognize TxPipe’s strong delivery record and the public-good nature of the work. This is the kind of open-source ecosystem infrastructure that can reasonably fit treasury support.
We would still like future reporting to include clearer maintenance KPIs, usage metrics, issue-resolution targets, contingency rules, and long-term sustainability logic. However, these concerns do not outweigh the value of maintaining Dolos.

RCADA supports this proposal because Dolos is useful open-source infrastructure for the Cardano developer ecosystem. It provides a lightweight, resource-efficient way for builders, tools, and infrastructure operators to access Cardano chain data without the full overhead of traditional node and indexing setups. This supports developer experience, infrastructure resilience, and long-term ecosystem sustainability.
The proposal is clear and appropriately scoped. It funds 12 months of maintenance and enhancement work, including dependency updates, Cardano protocol compatibility, performance improvements, bug fixing, documentation, community support, contribution review, and AI-friendly developer resources.
RCADA also notes that this is a continuation of prior maintenance funding rather than a speculative new initiative. TxPipe has a strong reputation in the Cardano ecosystem and a credible delivery history across open-source infrastructure projects. Prior funding should not create automatic entitlement to future Treasury support, but in this case it supports confidence in execution.
The governance and administration structure is also positive. This withdrawal passed the required Intersect Budget Process support threshold and will use the 2026 Treasury management smart contract framework, including oversight, milestone-based disbursement controls, and public dashboard visibility.
The requested amount of 540,750 ADA is reasonable for the scope and category of work, consisting of 525,000 ADA for Dolos maintenance and enhancement plus a 15,750 ADA Intersect administration fee.
RCADA’s support comes with standard expectations around transparent reporting, visible repository activity, milestone delivery, issue resolution, useful documentation, community responsiveness, and evidence that Dolos remains valuable to developers and infrastructure operators.
On balance, this proposal is open-source, infrastructure-focused, clearly scoped, process-approved, and delivered by a team with a credible track record.

Although we voted Abstain during the Hydra voting process, our position has evolved following the broader governance discussions and the extensive due diligence conducted by the DRep community. The proposal has received strong support from DReps who carefully evaluated its technical merit, ecosystem value, execution capability, and alignment with Cardano's long-term infrastructure needs. Their analyses, together with our own subsequent review, provided additional confidence in both the importance of the work and the credibility of the execution team.
After reassessing the proposal in light of this community feedback and our own analysis, we are convinced that continued funding for Dolos represents a sound investment in Cardano's shared infrastructure. Maintaining reliable, open-source developer tooling is essential to the ecosystem's continued growth, and TxPipe has demonstrated a consistent track record of delivering and maintaining critical infrastructure. Accordingly, while our initial Hydra vote reflected a more cautious position, we have decided to vote yes on this governance action, recognizing both its value to the ecosystem and the broad consensus that has emerged among informed DReps.
